Dr. Richard Rasmussen Jr. is an international pioneer in dental implants and one of the most experienced periodontal surgeons in the world. Dr. Rasmussen is the only periodontist in theU.S. trained in the craniofacial applications of implants and leads the field in minimally invasive soft tissue and bone grafting protocols. He has placed tens of thousands of implants since 1982, along with advanced soft and hard tissue reconstruction procedures.
He has served patients by using advanced, state-of-the-art technology to provide the most current and least invasive periodontal treatments possible. Besides implant therapy and recession treatment, Dr. Rasmussen Jr. also provides intravenous sedation, periodontal disease treatment, extractions, periodontal plastic surgery, ridge and sinus augmentations and laser therapy. Before any treatment, all patients receive a complimentary 3D scan to determine bone density and implant placement.
“Without a doubt, the most rewarding part of my practice is the privilege of getting to know our patients on a personal level,” Dr. Rasmussen Jr. says. “Many of our patients have been under my care for 30 to 40 years and have become good friends and part of the Implant & PeriodontalTherapy family.”
Dr. Rasmussen Jr. is one of few practicing clinicians who trained directly under Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark, the “Father of Modern Dental Implantology” and is the only periodontist to have trained in craniofacial surgery with him. Dr. Rasmussen Jr. spends many hours teaching and is the director of Tampa’s Seattle Study Club and the Dental Business Study Club.
